India’s festive season starts on the marketplaces before it starts anywhere else. This year, the Amazon Great Indian Festival and Flipkart’s Big Billion Days both begin on 8 October, Myntra’s Big Fashion Festival is expected around the same time, and quick-commerce orders build all the way to Diwali on 8 November.
This is the checklist we use for all of them. Each platform has its own guide, linked at the end.
The dates
- Amazon Great Indian Festival: starts 8 October 2026. In past years, Prime members have had about a day’s head start.
- Flipkart Big Billion Days: early access from 8 October 2026.
- Myntra Big Fashion Festival: expected around 8 October 2026. Myntra hasn’t confirmed the dates yet.
- Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart: no festive sale dates announced yet. Diwali is on 8 November.
The listing
- Main image: sharp, filling the frame, and within the platform’s rules. On Amazon, that means no “Sale” text on the main image.
- Title and bullet points (key features on Flipkart): what it is first, then why it’s better.
- Every attribute filled in, so the filters find you.
- A+ content or an RPD with a comparison chart, so shoppers can find the right product in your range.
The photos
- Every angle, a close-up and a picture that shows size.
- Every colour and variant, not just the hero.
- For fashion, the fit, on a model, from every side.
- For quick commerce, a pack that reads as a small tile.
Stock
- Every size and variant, not just the bestseller.
- Inbound deadlines for Fulfilled by Amazon and Fulfilled by Flipkart, checked and planned backwards from.
- Quick commerce, city by city, because each dark store has its own stock.
Prices and deals
- Deals booked early. Some slots close weeks before a sale.
- Honest discounts. Platforms check recent prices, and shoppers compare across apps.
Ads
- Live a week early, and before any early access opens.
- Bigger budgets for the sale days, checked twice a day.
- Money behind products with good ratings and stock, and none on anything about to run out.
Creative
- Sale banners in every size each platform and placement needs.
- A festival page in your Amazon Brand Store, with your live deals on it.
During the sale
- Stock and ads, checked every day.
- Questions and reviews, answered quickly.
After the sale
- Read the returns: they tell you what to fix.
- Keep the searches and the stock that worked, because shopping carries on until Diwali.
