Privacy policy

This website belongs to UGLY Creatives (“UGLY”, “we”), Eldeco Centre, 2nd Floor, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi 110017, India. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Questions go to hello@uglycreatives.com.

What we collect

What you choose to send us:

  • The project form: your brand, what you make, the answers you pick, your name, email address and phone number and, if you add one, a website or store link.
  • The GST details form: a contact name, email address, phone number, company name, brand name, GST number and billing address, which we need to invoice you.
  • The feedback form: your name, email address, brand, the person you worked with at UGLY, your ratings and anything you write.
  • The vendor registration form: your business or full name, contact details, address, PAN, GST and Udyam numbers, bank details, copies of documents such as your PAN card and a cancelled cheque, and the name of the person at UGLY who asked you to register.
  • Job applications: your name, email address, phone number and the city you live in, your CV and LinkedIn profile if you add them, and your answers to the role’s questions.
  • Emails you send us, and anything in them.

Like any website, our server also records basic technical details of each visit (your IP address, browser and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. Google Analytics counts visits too, as explained below.

How we count visits

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, how they found us and which pages they read, so we can make the site more useful. It sets two cookies, which last up to two years. They let it recognise your browser when you come back and tell one visit from the next. It records things like the pages you view, the site you came from, your device and browser, and roughly where you are (your city or country, not your address). Google says it doesn’t store IP addresses in Google Analytics.

We’ve turned off Google’s advertising features, so none of this is used to show you ads, and Google Analytics sets no advertising cookies. If you visit from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, it sets no cookies at all, though it still counts your visits.

Blocking cookies in your browser stops Google Analytics recognising you, though your visits are still counted. To turn it off completely on a computer, install Google’s opt-out add-on.

Why we use it

  • To reply to you, understand your product and prepare a proposal.
  • To do the work we’ve agreed, and to raise invoices and meet our tax obligations.
  • To learn from your feedback and do better work.
  • To consider you for the role you applied for.
  • To register you as a vendor, check your details and pay you.
  • To see which pages help people, and improve the ones that don’t.

We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t use it for anything you wouldn’t expect.

Who else handles it

A few service providers handle it for us, only to run this website and our email: the company that hosts our server, our email provider, and the service that delivers form submissions to our inbox. Google runs Google Analytics for us. Our videos come from YouTube, which is also Google’s: pointing at or pressing one starts loading YouTube’s player, in its privacy-enhanced mode. Google explains how it uses information from sites like ours. We also share invoicing details with the tax authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

As long as we need it for the reason you gave it to us, and longer only where the law requires (for example, invoicing and payment records). Server logs are deleted after 30 days. Files you upload (CVs and vendor documents) and vendor registrations are deleted from this website’s server after 3 days, once they’ve reached our team.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by writing to hello@uglycreatives.com. That address is also where to send any complaint about how we’ve handled your information, under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We’ll reply as soon as we can.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
