Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart This Diwali: What Brands Should Do Now

Quick commerce doesn’t have one big sale day. Its festive season builds like a tide: gifts, sweets, diyas, decorations and everything someone forgot, ordered in the evening and wanted before the guests arrive.

Diwali 2026 falls on 8 November, and the weeks before it are some of the busiest of the year for quick-commerce apps.

The apps run festive sales of their own, too. Last year, Swiggy Instamart ran its “Quick India Movement” sale from 19 to 28 September, just ahead of Amazon and Flipkart, and Blinkit ran a Grand Diwali Sale. Neither has announced this year’s dates yet, so keep an eye on your seller dashboards.

Here’s what we’d do now.

Tiles: win the glance

On Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart, your product is one small tile among many, and the choice takes seconds.

  • Make the pack readable at thumbnail size: brand, variant and pack size at a glance.
  • Give festive packs their own tiles. Gift boxes, combos and limited editions need their own listings and pictures, not a line in someone else’s description.
  • Keep your pictures consistent across the apps, so shoppers recognise you wherever they order.

Our photography team shoots and crops for tiles, not just for marketplace galleries.

Names: use the words people type

Festive searches are specific: gift hamper, dry fruits box, diya, rangoli colours. Make sure your product names use the words people actually type, with the pack size up front, so search puts you in front of them. That’s cataloguing for quick commerce.

Stock: city by city

Quick commerce sells from dark stores, city by city. A product that’s out of stock in one dark store simply isn’t there for the people it serves.

  • Check availability in every city you sell in, not just your total stock.
  • Plan festive stock early. Getting more into dark stores takes time, and the last week before Diwali is not the week to find that out.
  • Watch your busiest cities every day as Diwali gets close.

Ads: by city and by hour

  • Plan budgets around the hours your category sells, and the cities where it sells best.
  • Pause ads wherever you’re out of stock, so no money goes on a tile nobody can buy.
  • Give new festive packs a push in their first week, so they have a sales history before the peak.

We run this for brands as quick-commerce ads.

Creative: dress for the season

The apps change their look for the festive season, and your banners should too. Get festive creative ready early, sized for each app’s placements. Our ad creatives team makes these sets.

After Diwali: keep what worked

  • See what sold, and where, city by city, and keep it in stock.
  • Keep the gift packs that worked. The wedding season comes soon after Diwali, and so does the next rush.

It isn’t too late

The festive season runs long on quick commerce, which means there’s still time to get it right. If you’d rather hand it over, tell us what you sell, and we’ll tell you what to fix first.
