If you sell on Flipkart, you’ve probably heard other sellers mention Seller Lens. It’s a Chrome extension made by Flipkart. It shows market and competitor data on flipkart.com while you browse.
It shows you numbers for products that aren’t yours, such as sales rank, top keywords and price history. You see them on the same pages your shoppers see. The tool is also new, and some of what’s written about it online isn’t backed by anything Flipkart has said.
This guide sticks to what Flipkart has confirmed. It covers what Seller Lens is, how to set it up and what each part shows. It also covers how to use it for pricing, catalogue, ads and stock decisions, and where its data runs out.
What Seller Lens is
Seller Lens is a browser extension for market and competitor research. Flipkart Internet Private Limited publishes it on the Chrome Web Store as “Seller Lens by Flipkart”.
Flipkart announced it to sellers on its Sell on Flipkart YouTube channel in January 2026. Flipkart’s own Seller Lens page says it helps you spot market opportunities and compare any product against category leaders. It also lets you check price history and your expected settlement.
The Chrome Web Store listing showed around 100,000 users in late September 2026. Flipkart aims it at three groups:
- new sellers looking for their first product
- established sellers tidying up their catalogue and watching competitors
- brand managers protecting their place in a category and tracking prices
Neither the Chrome Web Store listing nor Flipkart’s Seller Lens page shows a price or a paid plan.
How to set it up
You need Chrome on a laptop or desktop. Flipkart only mentions Chrome, and Chrome extensions don’t run in Chrome on your phone.
- Install “Seller Lens by Flipkart” from the Chrome Web Store. Flipkart’s Seller Lens page at seller.flipkart.com/seller-lens also links to it. Either way, check that the developer is Flipkart Internet Private Limited before you add it.
- Go to flipkart.com and search for any keyword.
- Switch Seller Lens on with the on-screen toggle. If it asks you to sign in, use your Flipkart seller account.
It works on flipkart.com. With extra permissions, it also gives image-based insights on a few other sites, covered below.
If you haven’t got a seller account yet, start there. Our onboarding and account management team can help you set one up properly.
What it shows on search results
Search any term on Flipkart with Seller Lens switched on, and its metrics appear on every product card. You can see at a glance which products sell well and which listings are weak.
At the market level, Flipkart says Seller Lens shows:
- demand for a search query
- the top products for that query
- seasonal demand trends
- bestsellers at category level
What it shows on a product page
Click into any product for the deeper view. Flipkart lists these for any product, yours or a competitor’s:
- Sales Rank: how popular it is within its category
- Traffic and Conversion
- Ratings and Returns
- Sales Trend
- Keywords: the top search terms bringing traffic to it
- Buy Now ranking
The quality score rates a listing as Bad, Moderate, Good or Excellent. There’s also a ratings trend, which shows whether a product is gaining or losing ground.
You can compare any listing side by side with the one that holds the Buy Button. Flipkart has also added a competitor watchlist. You add a rival’s listing, then track its sales trend and price from your Seller Dashboard.
The Chrome Web Store listing says you can add a competitor’s top keywords to your own listing with a single click. Only do that when the word honestly describes your product.
Price history and settlement
Two parts help with pricing:
- Price and conversion history shows how a product’s price has moved over time, so you can see where it sold best.
- The settlement calculator shows your expected settlement on any product. It takes off Flipkart’s fees and shows what would reach your bank, per unit.
The Chrome Web Store listing puts it simply: “Know your numbers before you source.” Just make sure your own costs are in the sum too: product cost, packaging, inbound freight and what you lose on returns. For GST and tax treatment, ask your CA rather than rely on the calculator.
Insights on other sites
If you grant extra browser permissions, Seller Lens also works on Amazon, Meesho, Instagram and Pinterest. Select a product image on one of those sites and it shows two things: the product’s selling potential on Flipkart, and how crowded the competition is.
Be clear about what this is. It’s Flipkart’s estimate of how that product might do on Flipkart. It isn’t sales data from Amazon, Meesho or anywhere else.
How to use it to make decisions
Data only helps if it changes what you do. Here’s how we’d use each part.
Pricing
Search your main keywords and note the price history of the top three or four products. Look for the price bands where they held up best. Then check the expected settlement at the price the leaders sell at. If that doesn’t leave you a margin once your own costs are in, you find out before you buy stock, not after.
In a September 2026 webinar, Flipkart also said that pricing new listings below the category average earns extra visibility. Weigh that against your margins before you cut prices.
Catalogue gaps
Look for searches with strong demand where the top products have weak quality scores, falling ratings or high returns. You can fill that gap with a better product or a better listing.
Seller Lens isn’t the only tool for this. The Selection Insights page in your Seller Dashboard has tabs including Selling Fast, Best Sellers, Events, Fashion Trends and Sold Out. The Sold Out tab is worth a regular look, as Flipkart presents it as white space you can fill. Use Selection Insights to spot the gap, and Seller Lens to size up the products already in it.
Once you’ve found a gap, your listing has to be good enough to win it. Titles, images, key features and descriptions all count, and that’s what our cataloguing work covers.
Keywords and ads
Open the top products in your category and collect their top keywords. Put the relevant ones into your title and key features where they read naturally, and leave the rest.
Since May 2026, Seller Lens also shows ads insights on the product page: impressions, CTR, CVR, ROAS and a campaign breakdown. Flipkart says this data is shown only for your own listings, so you can’t see a competitor’s ad results.
Competitors’ top keywords are still a sensible starting point for ad targeting. That’s our suggestion, not a feature. Use them to build your first keyword set, then let your own ads insights decide what stays. If you’d like help running that, see our marketplace ads service.
Stock
Seasonal demand trends help you time a buy, and the settlement check tells you whether a product is worth buying at all. Flipkart doesn’t say Seller Lens shows competitors’ stock levels, so don’t plan around that.
For your own stock, use the inventory tools in your Seller Dashboard. Flipkart’s September 2026 webinar on avoiding stockouts covers real-time inventory monitoring, stock alerts and a safety stock formula.
What it can’t tell you
Seller Lens is useful, but it isn’t a full analytics suite. Keep these in mind:
- Desktop Chrome only. Flipkart mentions no other browser and no mobile version.
- Unclear methods. Flipkart describes a funnel from impressions to purchase, and “real search volume” for searches. It doesn’t say how often the numbers refresh or how they’re calculated. Treat them as signals, and compare like with like.
- No Buy Button rules. You can compare your listing with the one that holds the Buy Button, but Flipkart hasn’t explained how it ranks listings for it.
- It’s still changing. The version number was 0.0.76 at the time of writing. Flipkart has added features since launch: a competitor watchlist in February 2026, then returns and ads insights in May 2026. Expect more changes.
- Privacy. The Chrome Web Store disclosure says the extension handles user activity and website content. Flipkart declares that this data isn’t sold to third parties outside approved uses. To keep it apart from your personal browsing, run it in a separate Chrome profile for work.
Be careful with what you read about it, too. Some third-party blogs claim Seller Lens shows regional sales, hourly updates, or which products are sitting idle in warehouses. Flipkart hasn’t confirmed any of that. Ad results are real, but only for your own listings.
Don’t mix it up with SellerLens
SellerLens, at sellerlens.in, is an unrelated analytics tool for several marketplaces. It was still in early access when we checked, and it lists paid monthly plans. If you see monthly plans attached to Flipkart’s extension, check the source. They may belong to SellerLens.
Where to start
Install it, switch it on, and spend half an hour on the three searches that matter most to you. For each one, note who holds the top spots, their sales rank, quality score and top keywords, and what you’d settle at their price. Then fix the one listing where the gap is biggest.
Seller Lens won’t make decisions for you, but it gives you competitor numbers where you used to guess. If Flipkart is a big channel for you, our Flipkart page explains how we work there.
If you’d rather hand it over, tell us what you sell, and we’ll tell you what to fix first.
