One problem fills Amazon India’s seller forums more than any other: the Easy Ship pickup that never came. We read 690 threads that sellers posted there between January and October 2026. About one in four, 170 threads, was about a missed pickup. From January to April, missed pickups were about 15% of the threads we read. From May onwards, they were about 30%.
Say you sell cotton bedsheets from a small unit in Jaipur, and you started selling on Amazon last month. On Tuesday morning, six orders are due to ship. You pack them, print the labels and book the 2:15 to 4:30 pm pickup slot. By 2 pm, the parcels are sealed and stacked by the door.
At 4:30, nobody has come. You find the pickup person’s number in Seller Central and call it twice. Nobody answers. At 6 pm, the parcels are still by the door.
What you do in the next 24 hours decides what happens to those six orders.
On Easy Ship, Amazon sends a courier to collect each order from your address. Amazon calls this person the pickup associate. Here is what to do, step by step.
Before the slot
In Seller Central, check your pickup details under Settings, then Account Info, then Easy Ship Settings.
- Address. Give the full address: shop or house number, floor, building, lane, locality, a landmark and the pin code. Amazon assigns pickup associates by pin code, so a wrong pin code can mean nobody comes.
- Phone number. Give the number of the person who hands over the parcels. Someone has to be there for the whole slot.
- Map pin. Use “Update Pick-up Location” to pin your exact place on the map.
The associate will not take a parcel that breaks Amazon’s packing and labelling rules. The product’s own box does not count as packing, so it needs an outer box or bag. The label must be clear, unfolded and on the largest side. A parcel can weigh 22.5 kg at most.
Schedule the pickup before 1:45 pm on the ship date. Amazon says this protects your late shipment rate. The two slots are 11 am to 2:15 pm and 2:15 to 4:30 pm. Have every parcel ready before your slot starts. If you won’t be ready, use “Reschedule pick-up” in Manage Orders to move to a later slot.
During the slot
Once an associate is assigned, Seller Central shows their phone number from 11 am to 6 pm. In Manage Orders, open the Easy Ship tab, click Sent, and look for the banner under Waiting for pick-up. The number shows only when Amazon’s own delivery network, ATS, is collecting. If the slot is nearly over and nobody has come, call.
When the associate comes, make sure they scan each parcel before they leave. Amazon confirms the shipment by itself when an order is picked up. Some sellers on the forum say associates took parcels without scanning them, and the parcels were scanned only the next day. Those orders were marked late.
After 6 pm: fill in the Pickup Miss form
After 6 pm, a link to the Pickup Miss form appears in the same Waiting for pick-up section. Fill it in that evening, for every order still waiting. It asks for your registered email address, the order IDs separated by commas, and the reason. Say exactly what happened: nobody came, or the parcels were taken but not scanned.
Once you submit the form, Amazon tries to pick up again within 24 hours, according to its Pickup Miss FAQ. The orders move to the same slot the next day by themselves. Another help page adds that Amazon will reverse any metrics the miss affected, where that applies.
That second slot matters. An Easy Ship order that is not handed over by the day after its ship date is cancelled automatically. For Guaranteed Delivery orders, the limit is the ship date itself.
The next evening, open Reports, then Custom Reports. If Amazon finds a miss was on its side, the order appears in its Easy Ship Pick-up Miss Report by 6 pm the next day. For orders in that report, Amazon corrects your metrics within 48 hours. It also refunds any cancellation fee within 15 business days, without you asking. The Easy Ship Scheduling Issue Report does the same for orders you couldn’t schedule because no slot was shown. Amazon’s late shipment rate page explains both reports.
If you were charged a cancellation fee
If a missed order was cancelled and it isn’t in either report, claim the fee back yourself. Amazon’s cancellation fee refund page links to the claim workflow in Seller Central. Enter the order ID and choose the reason, for example that nobody came. Our post on cancellation fees explains how much the fee is.
- Claim within 30 days of the cancellation.
- Claim one order at a time. Each claim gets its own case ID, and Amazon won’t process other order IDs added to it.
- The decision usually comes at once. If not, Amazon emails you within 5 business days.
- An approved refund reaches your Payments page within 15 business days. Amazon says it also corrects any harm to your account from that order.
Amazon checks with the courier company, and can block sellers who file false claims from claiming again.
If your metrics dropped
A missed pickup can hurt your late shipment rate and your cancellation rate. To see both, open Account Health, go to Shipping performance and click View details.
Amazon’s targets:
- Late shipment rate: under 2%.
- Cancellation rate: under 2%, or under 0.5% for Prime orders and 1% for Guaranteed Delivery.
- Easy Ship Prime: late dispatches, cancellations and order defects each at or under 0.5%. On 400 orders in 30 days, that is two late or cancelled orders at most.
If a missed order still counts against you, open a case with Selling Partner Support. Amazon’s staff on the seller forums say to do this if the problem continues after the form. We’d list every order ID in the case, with the date of the miss and the date you filed the form.
Check your listings too. After two cancellations in a row within 30 days, Amazon can hide an Easy Ship listing for a while. It shows as Inactive in Manage Inventory, with an orange mark. Edit its price to bring it back.
When Self Ship or FBA is the better fix
The form fixes a miss after it happens. If pickups at your address keep failing even with the right details, change how you ship those orders.
The smallest change is Drop-off. If there is an Amazon station near you, choose it when you schedule, and take the parcels there between 11 am and 4:15 pm. Amazon limits how many orders you can drop off.
Self Ship means you send orders with your own courier. An account can use Easy Ship and Self Ship together. If Self Ship is not on, the “I am interested in Self Ship” button in Shipping Settings sends a request to Seller Support. You then confirm each shipment yourself by the ship date, with a tracking ID. Amazon wants valid tracking on at least 95% of these parcels, so use a courier from the list it shows when you confirm a shipment.
Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) means you send stock to Amazon’s warehouse, and Amazon ships each order. There is no daily pickup at your door. It suits your best-selling products. Our FBA shipment checklist covers what Amazon checks before it accepts your stock.
Where we come in
No agency can make a pickup associate arrive on time, and we won’t pretend we can.
Our account managers run Amazon accounts for brands day to day, from the brand’s own Seller Central account. That includes shipments, returns and lost-inventory claims, following up on support tickets, and watching account health. That is our account management service.
Back to the six parcels by the door. In your place, we’d fill in the form at 6 pm, check the report the next evening and claim any fee that same week. Then we’d find out why the pickup failed.
If missed pickups keep costing you orders, tell us what you sell and where you ship from.
